Pokemon #10-Chandelure

Chandelure is a Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 115 in the Unova Pokedex and number 609 in the National Pokedex. It is said that it absorbs a spirit, which it then burns.By waving the flames on its arms,it puts its foes into a hypnotic trance.
Chandelure is one of the best Pokemon that was intoduced within the 5th Generation. It has great offensive and defensive stats,a very good Fire and Ghost typing,a huge movepool and 3 decent abilities to work with.First of all its stats.Offensively,it comes with 55 Base in Attack,a crazy 145 Base Special Attack and 80 Base Speed.Defensively,it comes with 60 Base HP and 90 Base on both Defense and Special Defense. The three abilities that it gets are Flame Body,Flash Fire and Shadow Tag,the first two from normal gameplay and the third through the Dream World.Flame Body does burn whenever the opponent uses a physical move and Flash Fire boosts the power of your Fire-type moves whenever you get hit from a Fire-type move. For the fact that Shadow Tag is an ability that players don't really approve,I won't use it in any of these sets.Let's take a look at some possible Chandelure sets.

Choice Scarf
-Shadow Ball
-Fire Blast/Flamethrower
-Energy Ball
-Hidden Power Ice
Item:Choice Scarf
Ability:Flash Fire/Flame Body
EVs,Nature:
252 Special Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Modest(+Sp.Att,-Att)

This here is the most common Chandelure set.Run Max Special Attack and Max Speed Evs with the combination of Choice Scarf. With this set you can get some vey heavy damage on your opponent's team.Shadow Ball is STAB and hits everything except Normal,Steel and Dark types, but nevertheless it's a good move.Fire Blast is powerful on Chandelure being STAB and all that, but if you want something more standard go with Flamethrower which is STAB and everything but less powerful.Energy Ball is there to hit bulky waters as Swampert and Jellicent, and for a general type coverage.Hidden Power Ice,hits the dragons hard, especially Salamence and Garchomp.

Substitute+3Attacks
-Substitute
-Fire Blast/Flamethrower
-Shadow Ball
-Energy Ball
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Flash Fire/Flame Body
EVs,Nature:
252 Sp.Att,200 HP,56 Speed
Modest(+Sp.Att,-Att)

So,you set up a Substitute and then hit hard with one of your moves while you are protected.Fire Blast is good and powerful, but Flamethrower works better here as it doesn't have that low accuracy that Fire Blast does.Shadow Ball is good as I mentioned in the previous set.Energy Ball is here mostly for type coverage and for hitting bulky waters.

Choice Specs
-Shadow Ball
-Overheat
-Energy Ball
-Hidden Power Ice
Item:Choice Specs
Ability:Flash Fire/Flame Body
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Sp.Attack,4 HP
Timid(+Speed,-Attack)

Exactly the same set as the Choice Scarf set with the only difference of nature and Overheat instead of the other two Fire type moves.Overheat is great in this set, getting -1 after you use it,because of the Choice Specs.Everything else that I mentioned on the Choice Scarf set works here, too.

Counters
Rotom-W is great resisting the Fire STAB and being able to take a couple Enrgy Balls and OHKO with Hydro Pump.Spikes and Stealth Rock ruin Chandelure so if you see it in your opponent's team in the team preview, set your entry hazards quickly.Heatran can easily switch in,take hits all day and OHKO or 2HKO with Earth Power.Tentacruel is amazing being able to take both of its STABs,take Energy Balls and even the rare Psychic and 2HKO with Scald or OHKO with Surf.Mandibuzz can wall Chandelure nicely and force it out or take it down with 2 Brave Birds. Finally,Blissey, the Pokemon all hate, can wall Chandelure for ages and easily stall it to death.

Cool Info:Despite levitating,Chandelure cannot get the ability Levitate.

Thanks to my good friend Bestow5000 for the Substitute set.
Anyway, enjoy and have a nice day.

Pokemon #9-Bouffalant

Boullafant is a Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 132 in the Unova Pokedex and number 626 in the National Pokedex. It is said that they charge wildly and headbutt everything and that their headbutts have enough destructive force to derail a train.
Bouffalant is a very standard Pokemon.Pure Normal type, good stats, decent movepool and 3 abilities to work with.It comes with 110/40/55 on the offensive stats (Att/Sp.Att./Speed) and 95/95/95 on the defensive side(HP/Def/Sp.Def),very good overall. The two abilities that it gets through normal gameplay are Reckless, which raises the power of the recoil moves but also raises the recoil, and Sap Sipper which raises your attack by one stage whenever you get hit from a grass type move. The ability that it gets through the Dream World is Soundproof, which makes you immune to sound-based moves(as Roar,Perish Song,etc..).We have a very usable Pokemon here,so let's take a look at some possible sets.

Swords Dance
-Swords Dance
-Head Charge
-Megahorn
-Wild Charge
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Sap Sipper/Soundproof
EVs,Nature:
252 Att,200 Speed,56 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)

Bouffalant is slow as dirt.So go here with Max Attack, some investments in Speed and some in HP.Sap Sipper is a good ability to have, getting +1 when you get hit from a Grass type move but Soundproof can also work here letting you set up easily with Swords Dance without being afraid of Roar.Still, though there's Whirlwind. So it's your choice.Swords Dance is the main point of the set.Set up one or two and then get heavy damage on your opponent's team.Head Charge is your main option as STAB,but not a good STAB not being able to hit ghosts, steels, rocks, etc.Megahorn hit Pshychic and Grass types and is a very good move in general.Wild Charge is for type coverage and to land some hard damage.

Choice Band
-Head Charge
-Earthquake
-Megahorn
-Wild Charge
Item:Choice Band
Ability:Reckless
EVs,Nature:
252 Att,252 Speed,4 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)

I used this set twice and it worked perfectly.Run Max Attack and with the help of the Choice Band and Reckeless, land some severe damage on your opponent's team.Head Charge is,again, your main STAB,but be careful with the ghosts.Earthquake is always great to have, being a very strong and reliable move.Megahorn is what I said in the previous set.And Wild Charge can really hurt with the Choice Band and Reckeless, but the recoil damage will also hurt so use it wisely.

Counters
Bronzong,Skarmory and Ferrothorn are great, being able to take hits all day,set up entry hazards, poison and stall Bouffalant to death.Gengar is effective too, having immunity to Bouffalant's main STAB and being able to OHKO with a LO Focus Blast.CB Infernape can outspeed and take down Bouffalant with a Close Combat.Mienshao can easily bring Bouffalant down, with the combination of Fake Out and Hi Jump Kick. The common Choice Scarf Terrakion can destroy Bouffalant OHKOing it Close Combat or Sacred Sword.

Cool Info:Bouffalant is the only bovine Pokémon who can be of either gender. The others,Miltank and Tauros, can only be female and male, respectively.

Pokemon #8-Bisharp

Bisharp is a Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 131 in the Unova Pokedex and number 625 in the National Pokedex. It is said that it leads a group of Pawniard and that it battles to become the boss, but it will be driven from the group if it loses.
Bisharp is a very intresting Pokemon. It is the first ever Dark and Steel type.A very good typing offensively and also a very good typing defensively, being weak to only 3 types, resisting 8 and being immune to 2.Bisharp has a nice movepool,as well as good stats to work with and 3 useful abilities. It comes with with 125/60 /70 on the offensive stats (Att/Sp.Att/Speed) and 65/100/70 on the defensive stats (HP/Def/Sp.Def),pretty standard stats overall. The two abilities that it gets through normal gameplay are Defiant, which raises your Attack stat by two stages when the Pokemon has one of its other stats lowered,Inner Focus, whcich doesn't let you flinch. The ability that it gets through the Dream World is Pressure, which makes the opponent Pokemon lose two PPs of the move that it used to attack you instead of one. With a first look Bisharp seems cool, but let's take a more in-depth look on some of its sets.

Lead
-Stealth Rock
-Thunder Wave
-Iron Head
-Taunt
Item:Focus Sash
Ability:Inner Focus
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Attack,4 HP
Jolly(+Speed,-Sp.Att)

This is a very usable set.Stealth Rock is pretty much the best move in the game and it is great that Bisharp can get it.Thunder Wave is there to paralyze your opponent and it matches nicely with Iron Head,so you can get some ParaFlinching going on.Taunt is always great, blocking your opponent from setting up entry hazards or generally set up.Inner Focus is great to have here, because of all these lead Pokemon with Fake Out.You need to go with Max Speed on this set,so you can Taunt first, but after after you get a Thunder Wave off on your opponent speed won't be the matter.

Swords Dance
-Swords Dance
-Sucker Punch
-Iron Head
-Stone Edge
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Pressure
EVs,Nature:
252 Att,252 Speed,4 HP
Jolly(+Speed,-Sp.Att)

This is the Bisharp set that I've seen the most.It is really working so go ahead and try it.Predict a switch and set up a Swords Dance. Then hit hard with one of your other three moves.Sucker Punch is very powerful after a Swords Dance and also being STAB.Iron Head is pretty neat hitting with STAB and also being able to flinch.Stone Edge is very good move, very powerful and able to deal some massive damage even without a Swords Dance. Here,go again with Max Speed if you want to have any chance sweeping.

Choice Scarf
-Night Slash
-Iron Head
-Stone Edge
-X-Scissor
Item:Choice Scarf
Ability:Defiant
EVs,Nature:
252 Att,252 Speed,4 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)

I must admit. This is an original set that I tried only twice, but at least it worked.Defiant is perfect with this set.Bring Bisharp in on a physical move that you know you can take, take the plus 2 boosting your attack and then hit insanely hard nearly everything.Night Slash is your main option,as it is STAB and have high chances of Critical hit.Iron Head is your secondary STAB,which is also pretty decent being able to hit hard and also have chances of flinching with the help of the Choice Scarf.Stone Edge and X-Scissor is there for type coverage.

Counters
Mienshao is perfect being able to out speed and OHKO with Hi Jump Kick, just keep in mind that last Choice Scarf set that can probably out speed Mienshao, but nobody is crazy to leave a Pokemon 4 times weak to Fighting in against a faster Fighting type!Choice Band Infernape can easily OHKO with Mach Punch or Close Combat or Flare Blitz.Mach Punch Conkeldurr can easily OHKO Bisharp. So,pretty much everything with Fighting priority can take down Bisharp.Keep in mind the many resistances and immunities of Bisharp, though, that can really trouble you if you don't have something to clean it quick, such as a Fire or Fighting Pokemon.

Cool Info:Bisharp and its pre-evolved form Pawniard cannot learn any special moves by leveling up or breeding.

Have a nice day.

Pokemon #7-Lilligant

Lilligant is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 55 in the Unova Pokedex and number 549 in the National Pokedex. It is said that even veteran trainers face a challenge in getting its beautiful flowers to bloom. Also this Pokemon is popular with celebrities.
Lilligant is a pretty cool Pokemon. It is a pure Grass-type,with three abilities,ok stats and movepool. The main point of Lilligant though is Quiver Dance. The access to Quiver Dance makes Lilligant one of the best Grass-type sweeper.Lilligant gets a very nice support to Quiver Dance from its stats. The offensive side is good (60 Base Att,110 Base Sp.Att,90 Base Speed)while the defensive side is just fine to support Quiver Dance sets(70 Base HP,75 Base Def,75 Base Sp.Def).The three abilities that it gets are Chlorophyll, which boosts the speed of the Pokemon in the sun,Own Tempo which doesn't let the Pokemon become Confused and, through the Dream World,Leaf Guard, which heals all the status problems of the Pokemon in the Sun.So,let's take a look at some possible sets.

Quiver Dance
-Quiver Dance
-Petal Dance/Leaf Strom
-Sleep Powder
-Hidden Power Fire/Hidden Power Ground
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Own Tempo/Chlorophyll
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Sp.Attack,4 HP
Modest(+Sp.Att,-Att)/Timid(+Speed,-Att)

This is a pretty effective, but at the same time easy to use set.Put your opponent to sleep with Sleep Powder and then set up as many Quiver Dances you can/want.Petal Dance hits very hard with STAB and it doesn't confuse you, because of Own Tempo.Hidden Power Fire is there for type coverage. If you use this Lilligant set in the sun,you could change the ability into Chlorophyll and instead of Petal Dance use Leaf Storm, but that's your choice.

Support/Double Status
-Aromatherapy/Synthesis
-SolarBeam
-Sleep Powder
-Stun Spore/Toxic
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Leaf Guard
EVs,Nature:
252 HP,126 Sp.Def,130 Def
Bold(+Def,-Att)/Calm(+Sp.Def,-Att)

With this set you definitely need Sun on the field. So,bring a Drought Ninetales.Aromatherapy is a cool move if you want to get rid of the status conditions inyour team.Instead of Aromatherapy, though, you can go with Synthesis, which in the Sun heals nearly 3/4 of your maximum HP.SolarBeam is amazing in the Sun,hitting very hard with STAB,but having poor type coverage, but this is a support set so you only need one or two moves.Sleep Powder in combination with Stun Spore/Toxic is just amazing.Put your opponent to sleep, then predict the switch and give them another status condition.Toxic would be more beneficial than Stun Spore,as you can stall your opponent with Synthesis and slowly wear him/her down.Stun Spore can be good,if you don't want to have troubles with the Steel-Types that cannot get Poisoned.

Counters
Lilligant is only difficult to counter after a few Quive Dances. In general it's pretty easy to take it down.Heatran is a very effective counter to both sets, resisting all moves, but keep in mind that in some rare cases Lilligant can pack HP Ground.Salamance is awesome against Lilligant. It can come in take, all moves from it and easily KO or set up on its face.Same with Hydreigon. It can come in,resisting all moves OHKO with Fire Blast or Flamethrower.Virizion is good against it,resisting its STAB,being able to take two +2 Hidden Power Fire and set up with Sword Dance.

Cool Info:Lilligant is the only non-Bug type Pokemon that learns Quiver Dance.

Have a nice day.

Pokemon #6-Accelgor

Accelgor is a Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 123 in the Unova Pokedex and number 617 in the National Pokedex. They say that when its body dries out,it weakens,so to prevent dehydration,it wraps itself in many layers of thin membrane.
Accelgor is a good Pokemon. It is a pure Bug-type,with some good stats and a fairly decent movepool. The speed of this Pokemon is the main attraction here, being 145 Base. Then its attack is ok I guess with 70 Base and its special attack is quite high being 100 Base. The defenses of Accelgor are very poor (80 Base HP,40 Base Def,60 Sp.Def),but there's no reason to use this Pokemon defensively.Accelgor comes with three abilities.Hydration, which heals your status condition in the rain,Sticky Hold, which ensures you that your item will never be taken and as Dream World ability Unburden, which doubles your speed once your held item is used. So,overall not a bad Pokemon.

Lead
-Spikes
-U-Turn
-Bug Buzz
-Focus Blast
Item:Focus Sash
Ability:Sticky Hold/Unburden
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,130 Sp.Att,126 Att
Naive(+Speed,-Sp.Def)

This is a very effective lead set.Accelgor's insane speed in combination with Focus Sash ensures you that you can set up at least two layers of Spikes which is always nice.U-Turn lets you get out while you hit your opponent with STAB.Bug Buzz in your main option if you want to get damage on your opponent.Focus Blast is there to hit Steel and Rock types,as well as,Ferrothorn which likes to switch in to Accelgor, wall it and set up on it.

Choice Specs
-Bug Buzz
-Energy Ball/Giga Drain
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power Ice
Item:Choice Specs
Ability:Hydration/Sticky Hold
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Sp.Att,4 HP

This set can really work with Accelgor, just because of its amazing speed.Bug Buzz is your main option getting STAB and hitting quite hard with Choice Specs.Energy Ball hits water and ground types, but if you want to heal while you hit you can go with Giga Drain, but you lose some power.Focus Blast hits steel types, such as Heatran,Ferrothorn and Excardrill, that like to come in and wall it.Hidden Power Ice take care of the dragons and the birds.

Counters
Accelgor is fast but very frail. So nearly everything will at least 2HKO it.Pokemon with Taunt are also great against the lead set.Mienshao can take it out combining Fake Out and U-Turn/Stone Edge.Scizor can OHKO with CB Bullet Punch.Infernape can live nearly everything(probably not a Focus Blast) and can OHKO with Fire Blast/Overheat/Flare Blitz.Gengar is also great against Accelgor being able to take anything from it,set up a substitute and then hit it with Shadow Ball/Sludge Bomb/HP Fire.

Cool Info:Accelgor is the fastest Generation 5 Pokemon and second fastest non-legendary Pokemon after Ninjask.

Enjoy and have a nice day.

Pokemon #5-Conkeldurr

Conkeldurr is a Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 40 in the Unova Pokedex and number 534 in the National Pokedex. It is thought that Conkeldurr taught humans how to make concrete 2000 years ago.
Conkeldurr is an awesome Pokemon. It is a pure Fighting type, with great stats,3 great abilities and a very big movepool to choose from.Firstly, let's see its stats.Conkeldurr comes with a whooping 140 Base Attack stat,55 Special Attack and 45 Speed.Defensively,it comes with 105 base HP,95 base Defense and 65 Special Defense. So it's a very bulky,hard-hitting Pokemon and with access to Bulk Up,which means that you have a lot of options to work with.Conkeldurr gets two abilities from in-game gameplay(Guts and Sheer Force) and one ability through the Dream World(Iron Fist).Guts is a great ability boosting your attack by 1.5 every time you have a status condition.Sheer Force boosts the power of the moves with a secondary effect, but the secondary effect is lost.Iron Fist increases the power of the punching moves by 20%.I'd personally use the first two abilities, only because Conkeldurr doesn't have a lot punching moves to use with Iron Fist.Anyway, here are some sets.

Bulk Up
-Bulk Up
-Drain Punch
-Payback
-Stone Edge
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Guts
EVs,Nature:
252 HP,252 Sp.Def,4 Att
Careful(+Sp.Def,-Sp.Att)

This is the most common set of Conkeldurr.Run Max HP and Special Defense, survive anything they throw at you,set up a couple of Bulk Ups and sweep.Drain Punch works great in this set, being STAB and giving you HP back.Payback is there to take care of the ghost Pokemon and the Psychic Pokemon.Stone Edge hits the Flying Pokemon that can counter Conkeldurr. This set gives you great type coverage, but make sure you run the maximum bulk you can becuase you need to be able to survive many hits,so you can set up and hit back.

Flame Orb
-Protect
-Drain Punch/Mach Punch
-Payback
-Stone Edge/Earthquake
Item:Flame Orb
Ability:Guts
EVs,Nature:
252 Att,252 HP,4 Sp.Def
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)

This is a surprisingly effective set. This set makes use of Conkeldurr's monsterous attack and its ability Guts.Activating the Flame Orb,you will get the boost from Guts and then you'll be able to OHKO ot 2HKO nearly everything.Protect is there for scouting and/or activating your Flame Orb.Drain Punch can heal you from the damage of the Flame Orb and at the same time hit hard. You can also go with Mach Punch for priority, but you lose the power and the healing of Drain Punch so I'd go with Drain Punch in any case.Payback is there again to hit Ghost and Psychic Pokemon, and the speed of Conkeldurr will ensure you that most of the times you will go second so Payback's power will be higher.Stone Edge is there for more type coverage but if you want to use something different go with Earthquake,it is as effective as Stone Edge and it doesn't miss.

SubPuncher
-Substitute
-Focus Punch
-Payback
-Mach Punch
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Iron Fist
EVs,Nature:
216 HP,252 Att,40 Sp.Def
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)/Brave(+Att,-Speed)

This set makes use of the ability Iron Fist.Focus Punch in combination with Iron Fist can really deal some massive damage.Bring Conkeldurr in,scare your opponent out and set up a Substitute, then land a powerful Focus Punch but be careful with the Ghosts.Payback will get rid of the Ghosts and the Psychic Pokemon.Mach Punch is pretty nice, hitting with priority and finishing off what you couldn't take down with Focus Punch or Payback. As a side note, you can use Brave nature here,so you will be slower than Dusknoir,Eviolite Dusklops and Reuniclus and land heavier damage with Payback.

Counters
Hippowdon can take hits and can force Conkeldurr out.Psychic Pokemon such as Victini,Alakazam,Reuniclus are good against Conkeldurr, hitting it hard with super effective moves, but it can probably survive a hit and KO them with Payback,so keep that in mind.Skarmory is great against Conkeldurr, taking with ease any hit and hitting back hard with Brave Bird and/or phazing it out with Whirlwind.Pokemon with Taunt can destroy the SubPunching and the Bulk Uping set,so remember that.

Cool Info:Conkeldurr has the highest Attack of all Fighting-type Pokémon.

Have a nice day.

Pokemon #4-Hydreigon

Hydreigon is a Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 141 in the Unova Pokedex and number 635 in the National Pokedex. They say that the heads on their arms don't have brains, and they use all three heads to consume and destroy everything.
Hydreigon is one of the most common and overused Pokemon today. It is the first Dark-Dragon type Pokemon. This type offers exellent type coverage offensively and a few resistances and immunities defensively.Hydreigon's stats are amazing.Great offensive stats (105 Base Att,125 Sp.Att,98 Speed) and quite high defensive stats (92 Base HP,90 Def,90 Sp.Def).Hydreigon comes with only one ability,Levitate.Levitate was,is and will be one of the best abilities in the game, giving you full immunity to powerful Earthquake,Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Also,Hydreigon comes with a very big movepool giving you many variant options. Now,it's obvious why Hydreigon is so popular.

Choice Scarf
-Draco Meteor
-Surf
-Dark Pulse
-Fire Blast/Focus Blast
Item:Choice Scarf
Ability:Levitate
EVs,Nature:
252 Sp.Att,252 Speed,4 HP
Modest(+Sp.Att,-Att)/Timid(+Speed,-Att)

Here is the most popular Hydreigon's set. This set works great as a revenge killing set or for cleaning up already weakend teams.Draco Meteor is crazy powerful with max Special Attack and STAB and can get great damage to almost everything.Surf is there to take care of Ground,Fire and Rock types.Dark Pulse is your secondary STAB move and can hit hard for super effective damage.Fire Blast is a must, for Pokemon like Ferrothorn,Registeel,Skarmory, etc.Focus Blast is a great move, too, but Fire Blast has better type coverage, and I think is better.

Mix Hydra
-U-Turn
-Fire Blast
-Draco Meteor
-Earthquake/Crunch
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Levitate
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,130 Attack,126 Special Attack
Naive Nature(+Speed,-Sp.Def)

A very effective and unpredicatble set.You hit hard and run, pretty much.U-Turn is there for scouting and hitting some Pokemon for super effective damage.Fire Blast is necessary to hit Scizor,Ferrothorn, etc.Draco Meteor is your strongest move, being STAB and getting boost from Life Orb.The last move though,is your choice.Earthquake is always great and can take care of Heatran that are common these days ,while Crunch is STAB and can really catch your opponent off guard.

Choice Specs
-Dragon Pulse/Draco Meteor
-Earth Power/Dark Pulse
-Fire Blast
-Surf
Item:Choice Specs
Ability:Levitate
EVs,Nature:
252 Special Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Timid(+Speed,-Att)/Modest(+Special Attack,-Att)

With Choice Specs,Hydreigon gets 575 Special Attack. This set is simply crazy powerful.Dragon Pulse is more standardand is there if you don't want the -2 from Draco Meteor, but for me Draco Meteor is better in this set.Earth Power is a special Earthquake, but weaker, and is an awesome move in a Choice Specs set.If you don't want Earth Power you can go with your second STAB,Dark Pulse, which is also a good option.Fire Blast as I said before is a must to get rid of Ferrothorn which walls you.Surf completes the set and gives you perfect type coverage hitting hard Fire,Ground,Rock types for super effective damage.

Counters
I must admit that Hydreigon is difficult to counter.Mienshao is great being able to OHKO with Hi Jump Kick,or get heavy damage with the combination of Fake Out and U-Turn.A bulky variant of Conkeldurr can counter Hydreigon, being able to survive a couple of hits set up with Bulk Up and OHKO with Mach Punch.CB Infernape can outspeed any other set but the Scarfed one and kill with Close Combat. Also Terrakion can outspeed and kill with Close Combat, keeping in mind though the option of Scarf and Surf.

Cool Info:Hydreigon is the only pseudo-legendary Pokémon with only one ability available.

Enjoy and have a nice day!

Pokemon #3-Volcarona

Volcarona is a Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 143 in the Unova Pokedex and number 637 in the National Pokedex. It is said that when volcanic ash darkened the atmosphere,Volcarona's fire provided a replacement for the sun.
Volcarona is pretty intresting Pokemon. It is the first ever Bug and Fire type Pokemon. This typing provides great type coverage offensive and defensive. Its big threat though is Stealth Rock.Thankfully for Volcarona,Stealth Rock is not so common in Generation 5,due to not being a TM,but still it's a threat.Volcarona stats are great for offensive sets, but not really good for defensive. It comes with 60/135/100 in the offensive stats (Att,Sp.Att,Speed) and 85/65/105 in the defensive(HP,Def,Sp.Def).Impressive for a butterfly. We must note that Volcarona gets access to the new move,Quiver Dance, which raises the Special Attack, the Special Defense and the Speed of the user.Volcarona gets 2 abilities. One from normal gameplay and one through the Dream World.Flame Body is its first ability and Swarm it's second.Very good abilities to support an already great Pokemon. So with these stats, these abilities and access to Quiver Dance it's obvious that Volcarona is a great Special Sweeper with a huge movepool and great typing.

Quiver Dance
-Quiver Dance
-Bug Buzz
-Fiery Dance
-HP Ice
Item:Leftovers/Lum Berry
Ability:Flame Body
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Sp.Att,4 HP
Timid(+Speed,-Att)/Modest(+Sp.Att,-Att)

Here is the most common Volcarona's set.Bring it safely in,set up one or two Quiver Dances and then enjoy your sweep. But make sure you got rid of the Stealth Rock with a spinner, because Volcarona doesn't really like that entry hazard damage.Bug Buzz is STAB and strong hitting for super effective damage.Fiery Dance is a great fire move, hitting with STAB and also having possibilities of raising Volcarona's Special Attack by one stage.HP Ice is there for the Dragons,Salamence and Garchomp, which can stop your sweep if you don't have something to hit them.

Choice Specs
-Overheat/Fire Blast
-Bug Buzz
-HP Ice
-Psychic
Item:Choice Specs
Ability:Swarm/Flame Body
EVs,Nature:
252 Sp.Att,252 Speed,4 HP
Timid(+Speed,-Att)

This is set is kinda unsual but it's pretty good if you learn how to use it.Come in after you got rid of the Stealth Rock and hit hard with the Specs.Overheat is STAB and crazy powerful with Specs, but if you don't want the -2 in Special Attack go with Fire Blast.Bug Buzz is your other STAB.HP Ice is there for the Dragons(Salamence,Flygon,Garchomp),while Psychic is there for a better type coverage and for hitting the very common in our days Fighting types.Make sure you run Max Speed in this set, because it's very important to be able to outspeed or force speed ties.

Counters
Volcarona hates Stealth Rock.Set them up and make sure you block your opponent's Rapid Spin with a ghost.Jellicent is an exellent counter to Volcarona resisting both its STAB moves and being able to survive anything, having that godlike Special Defense.Swampert is also great against Volcarona being able to survive 1 or 2 hits and then hit it hard with a water move.Fast Pokemon with Rock moves in general are amazing against Volcarona, such as Terrakion,Infernape with Stone Edge, etc.Heatran can resist most of Volcarona's moves and can 2HKO with Fire Blast.

Cool Info:Volcarona shares the species name "Sun Pokémon" with Espeon and Sunflora.

Have fun using the little fiery butterfly!
Have a nice day.

Pokemon #2-Zoroark

Zoroark is Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It's number 77 in Unova Pokedex and number 571 in the National Pokedex. It is said that the bonds between these Pokemon are very strong and that it protects the safety of its pack by tricking its opponents.
Zoroark is one of my favourite Pokemon of the new generation. It has a very nice ability and some pretty cool stats to work with.Zoroark comes with a pure Dark type and with the ability Illusion. With this ability Zoroark is transformed into the last non-fainted Pokemon in your party, copying its nickname and its complete appereance(if its shiny or not).Zoroark has a huge variety in its movepool,in both physical and special side. Its stats are the epitomy of the glass cannon.Amazing Sp.Att(120 Base),Att(100 Base) and Speed(105 Base). Its defenses on the other hand are quite low,60 in each stat(HP,Def,Sp.Def).So,in an overview we can say that Zoroark can work great as a hit and run Pokemon.

Lead
-Flamethrower
-Focus Blast
-Night Daze
-Grass Knot/Taunt
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Illusion
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Sp.Att,4 HP
Modest(+Sp.Att,-Att)/Timid(+Speed,-Att)

This is probably the most common and most used set of Zoroark. This set works great as lead, you transform into another Pokemon in your party, bloffing your opponent and quickly KOing his/her lead.Flamethrower is there for the ridiculosly common Ferrothorn.Focus Blast is there so you can hit for super effective damage.Night Daze is your main STAB,but as soon as your opponent see this move,he/she will probably
be able to tell that you have a Zoroark out.Grass Knot is there,in case of Swampert, something quite uncommon these days.Instead of Grass Knot though, you can use Taunt if you really have to keep away the entry hazards.

Nasty Plot
-Nasty Plot
-Flamethrower
-Night Daze
-Focus Blast/Hidden Power Ice
Ability:Illusion
Item:Life Orb/Lum Berry
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Sp.Att,4 HP
Timid(+Speed,-Att)

This set is just great.Being able to get a Nasty Plot off ensures you a sweep(but not really).Predict a switch set up a Nasty Plot and wreck havoc.Flamethrower is there for Ferrothorn,Scizor,Whimsicott, etc.Night Daze is your STAB and after the +2 it really hurts.Focus Blast is there for type coverage, but if you really don't like dragons HP Ice is there for you.The most important thing on this set Speed.Make sure you have Max Speed on Zororark and your sweep is a step closer.

Mixed Zoroark
-U-Turn
-Night Daze/Sucker Punch
-Flamethrower
-Focus Blast/Grass Knot
Item:Life Orb/Choice Scarf
Ability:Illusion
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,126 Sp.Att,130 Att.
Naive(+Speed,-Sp.Def)

This is an unusual set.I've seen only a few times and I don't think that it can work quite effectively,so let's consider it a gimmicky set.I think that this set will work well in late game, cleaning up the opponent's remaining Pokemon.U-Turn is there for scouting and to get switch advantages.Night Daze is STAB and strong but Sucker Punch is also cool if you don't like that 95 accuracy of Night Daze.Flamethrower is a must on this set so you can hit Ferrothorn.Focus Blast or Grass Knot, are there for super effective damage.

Counters
Zoroark is pretty frail in general,so pretty much anything with a small amount of bulk can handle it.Mienshao can force speed ties and deal a huge amount of damage with Fake Out.Gyarados is also good against Zoroark beeing able to set up on it,keeping in mind that Zoroark can have Taunt.Priority Pokemon such as Hitmontop,Scizor,Conkeldurr really trouble Zoroark.Bulky Zapdos is great being able to survive abything from Zoroark with ease and then 2 HKOing with ThunderBolt.

Cool Info:Zoroark alongside with its pre-evolved form Zorua, are the first Pokemon of the 5th Generation to be officialy announced by Nintendo. Also,Zoroark and Zorua had the main role in the latest Pokemon movie Zoroark-Master of Illusions.

Have fun using the illusion fox Pokemon!
Have a nice day.

Pokemon #1-Victini

So as first official post on the Blog I will start with the Pokemon with dex number 000,Victini.
Victini is a Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5 (Black,White). It is said that Victini will always bring victory to its trainer.
I have to admit.Victini is a very cool Pokemon. Not only because of its Pokedex description but also because of its amazing battling capabillities.Victini is the first Fire and Psychic type,a very offensive type, with great STABs and a great movepool. It's stats can support both a physical attacking or a special attacking set,as it comes with 100 base on both Attack and Special Attack. Also it's speed is 100 base,so it can really support its offensive stats. The defenses of Victini are 100 each(HP,Defense,Special Defense),which are great to support a sweeping set,but its movepool cannot really support a defensive set,so I will mainly focus on offensive sets and strategies.Victini comes with the ability Victory Star which boosts the accuracy of the moves by 10%,really useful if you use inaccurate moves such focus blast, fire blast,thunder,etc..

Special Sweeper
-Fire Blast/OverHeat
-Psychic
-Thunder
-Focus Blast
Item:Life Orb/Choice Specs
Ability:Victory Star
EVs,Nature:
252 Special Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Modest(+Sp.Att,-Att)/Timid(+Speed,-Att)

A very standard special sweeper Victini.Fire Blast is your main STAB move, while you can go with OverHeat for some extra power, but with either move you will hit everything really hard.Psychic is your other STAB,and is here only when you can't hit with your fire moves.Thunder is great in this set as it gets its accuracy boosted from Victory Star and it can really hit hard Water types that like to switch in to Victini. Finally, focus blast can work here nicely as it is also get its accuracy boosted from Victory Star, still having that annoying low accuracy though, and can hit hard for super effective damage.

Physical Sweeper
-Flare Blitz
-U-Turn
-Wild Charge
-Zen Headbutt
Item:Choice Band/Choice Scarf/Life Orb
Ability:Victory Star
EVs,Nature:
252 Att,252 Speed,4 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)/Jolly(+Speed,-Sp.Att)

Kind of an unusual set here.Unusual, not useless.People from my experience prefer the special set just because they have a biggest variety to choose from, but this set also works good.Flare Blitz is your most powerful move as its your STAB.U-Turn is there so you can scout,if it is early game and also to land super effective damage on some usual Dark and Psychic type Pokemon that go around these days.Wild Charge is great to hit
water types that like to come in and sponge Victini's STAB fire moves.Zen Headbutt is your only physical Pshychic STAB and is very useful as it gets the accuracy boost from the ability and can hit nicely for super effective damage

Mixed Sweeper
-U-Turn/Fire Blast/Overheat
-Fire Blast/Overheat/Flame Charge
-Thunder/Energy Ball
-Phychic/Psyshock
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Victory Star
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,126 Att,130 Sp.Att
Naive(+Speed,-Sp.Def)

This is probably the most difficult set to use but one of my favourites.Flame Charge is an intresting choice,if you really want to sweep with Victini, these speed boosts are very cool while you hit with STAB fire.U-Turn is there for scout.Fire Blast or Overheat is there if you decide that you don't want to do crazy things with Flame charge and want some real fire power and some strong STABs.Thunder is great on Victini as I said before as it gets boosted from Victory Star.Energy Ball is a choice but..a rare choice if you really despise Swampert.Phychic can deal a lot of damage being STAB and quite high powered.Psyshock is a cool move being special but hitting physical, but I personally prefer psychic.

Counters
When you meet a Victini.most of the times is a sweeper,so you know its gonna fall easily.Pokemon that can survive a hit or two can easily counter Victini.Zapdos is good choice, the bulky set, being able to survive with ease one or two hit and 2 hit KO with ThunderBolt.Drizzle Politoed, the choice scarf set, is a great option against Victini as it can switch on a fire move, take it,and then OHKO with Hydro Pump or Surf. Finally,Heatran can easily counter Victini as it can take pretty much all of its moves and easily revenge kill with a couple earth powers.Rotom-W is also a great counter resisting the fire moves and being able to OHKO with Hydro Pump, just have in mind that Rotom won't take a Thunder easily but it will take it.Hydreigon resisits the fire STAB and is immune to the psychic STAB and also resists Thunder,so it's a very good option, just be careful with that focus blast.

Cool Info:Victini is a mythical Pokemon as Mew,Celebi,Manaphy,Jirachi and Shaymin.

I hope you like the ideas of the sets and you will have fun using one of those. If you have any question don't hesitate asking me.
Have a nice day.

Pokemon Battling Factory introduction

Hello everyone!
My name is Miltos and I've been playing Pokemon for more than 10 years now.Since the start of generation 4(Diamond,Pearl,Platinum),I have been playing the competitive side of the game. For many people, this side of the game is still unkown but for some others is their second nature. But,the reason that I decide to create this Blog is for both experts and new players. The experts can get some more ideas and learn some things that they probably don't know yet,and the new players can learn basic things so they can start battling on their own.Anyway, enough with this chit-chat.Time to work!
