Pokemon #26-Manectirc

Manectric is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Generation 3(Ruby,Sapphire,Emerald).It is number 79 in the Hoenn Pokedex and number 310 in the National Pokedex. It is said that it discharges electricity from its mane. Also it creates a thundercloud overhead to drop lightning bolts.
Manectric wasn't a good Pokemon in Generation3.In Generation 4 though, with the additon of Flamethrower and Overheat,Manectric became a little bit better. In Generation 5,it didn't get any useful ability but it got a useful move,Volt Switch. Its stats are not the best but are not the worst either.70/60/60 on the defensive side(HP/Def/Sp.Def) and 75/105/105 on the offensive side(Att/Sp.Att/Spe).It can get three abilities.Static, which has 30% chance of paralyzing the opponent whenever its Pokemon is using a physical move.Lightningrod, which draws all the Electric-type moves and raises the user's Special Attack stat. From the Dream World,Manectric can get Minus(honestly a horrible ability),which raises the user's Special Attack by 50% everytime you have on your side a Pokemon with the ability Plus. Now,let's take a look at some possible sets.

Choice Scarf
-Volt Switch
-Flamethrower
-Hidden Power Grass/Ice
-ThunderBolt
Item:Choice Scarf
Ability:Static/Lightningrod
EVs,Nature:
252 Special Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Modest(+Sp.Att,-Att)

The most common set of Manectic in Generation 5.Max Special Attack Manectric hits 339 Special Attack which is something not to laugh at.Volt Switch is a great move for scouting, getting some nice damage with STAB and switching to a proper counter to your opponent's Pokemon.Flamethrower is a must in the current metagame, with all these Steel-types that are around, and especially Ferrothorn.Hidden Power Grass is a great move on this set hitting most of the Bulky Waters that ThunderBolt and Volt Switch doesn't hit.Hidden Power Ice is also decent, for some Dragons, but I find HP Grass more useful in certain situations.ThunderBolt is your standard attack,it's STAB and it's stronger than Volt Switch. Please note that this set works very good as a lead set with the decent Speed of Manectric in combination with the Choice Scarf,as well as Volt Switch and its decent Special Attack.

Sub+3Attacks
-Substitute
-ThunderBolt
-Hidden Power Grass
-Flamethrower
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Static/Lightningrod
EVs,Nature:
252 Special Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Modest(+Sp.Att,-Att)

This set works surprising well.Behind the Substitute Manectric is safe, and able to hit hard with one of its move.Pretty simple, huh? With Max Special Attack and the Life Orb,trust me you will definetely do some decent damage.ThunderBolt is your main option here, with STAB and all that.Hidden Power Grass is good for some common Ground/Water types that will try to wall Manectric.Flamethrower,as I mentioned earlier,is a must for all the Steel-types.

Counters
Chansey and Clefable can stall it out all day long, thanks to their decent Special Defense and access to a recovery move.Special Defensive Pokemon like Venusaur and Registeel are also good, able to take at least 2 Flamethrowers and either KO with one of their moves or force it out.Lanturn is another great Pokemon to counter Manectric, thanks to Volt Absorb and its decent HP and Special Defense.

Cool Info:Manectric wasn't able to learn any Fire-type move in Generation 3,though in Generation 4 it was able to learn three Fire-type moves,Flamethrower,Fire Fang and Overheat.

Pokemon #25-Durant

Durant is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 138 in the Unova Pokedex and number 632 in the National Pokedex. It is said that they attack in groups, covering themselves in steel armor to protect themselves from Heatmor.
Durant is a very cool Pokemon. It has decent stats,a big movepool,a good ability and a very useful typing.Durant is a Bug and Steel-type,a very common type but a very good one, both offensively and defensively. It has 58/112/48 on the defensive side(HP/Def/Sp.Def) and 109/48/109 on the offensive side(Att/Sp.Att/Spe).As you can tell, the Attack and the Speed stat are the main attractions of this Pokemon. It can get three abilities.Swarm, which increases the power of the Bug-type moves by 50% when its HP are below 1/3rd,Hustle,which boosts the power of the physical attacks by 50%,but making the average accuracy  80% and through the Dream World,Truant, which makes the user unable to attack consecutively turn after turn. The good ability that I mentioned earlier is Hustle and you will see in a bit why it's a good ability on Durant.Anyway, let's see some possible sets.

Choice
-Stone Edge
-X-Scissor
-Iron Head
-Crunch
Item:Choice Scarf/Choice Band
Ability:Swarm
EVs,Nature:
252 Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)/Jolly(+Spe,-Sp.Att)

A pretty standard and easy-to-use set.If you go with Choice Band run max Speed,Jolly nature and if you go with Choice Scarf run max Attack,Adamant nature.Stone Edge hits Flying and Fire-types and with Durant's great Attack stat it can really hit hard.X-Scissor is STAB and a very useful move on the current metagame, with all these Psychic-types that are everywhere.Iron Head is your other STAB,not as useful as  X-Scissor but can work at certain times.Crunch is there for more type coverage and for hitting some common Ghosts like Jellicent and Gengar.

Set Up Ant
-Hone Claws
-X-Scissor
-Stone Edge
-Iron Head/Crunch
Item:Leftovers/Life Orb
Ability:Hustle
EVs,Nature:
252 Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Jolly(+Spe,-Sp.Att)

This is why Hustle is the best of Durant's abilities. With Hone Claws raisest your Attack and your Accuracy. So having Hustle droping your accuracy and Hone Claws raising it,you have a great combo. So on the switch set up a Hone Claws and then if you feel sure go for a second or hit hard with Hustle and +1 in Attack.X-Scissor,like before,is your main STAB move and it's really strong with Hustle.Stone Edge is amazing in this set,not getting an accuracy drop from Hustle because already its accuracy is 80%,and getting a nice boost in accuracy from Hone Claws, plus all the Attack boosts from Hustle and Hone Claws.Iron Head like before can work occasionaly, while Crunch hits some certain Ghosts like Chandelure,Gengar or Jellicent that like to switch in.
Note:Durant can get Baton Pass, and with Hone Claws that can be a decent combo, but it never worked for me so I just mention it,in case you are wondering why I don't have a Baton Pass set.

Counters
Fire-type Pokemon are great,as Durant is 4 times weak to their Fire-type moves. So Pokemon like,Heatran,Infernape,Victini,Darmanitan,Emboar are awesome.Bulky Waters, like Swampert and Vaporeon are also great, being able to take hits all day and either 2HKO or force Durant out.In general,Durant's Special Defense is paper thin,so if you hit it on the Special side you won't have any troubles at all.

Cool Info:Durant and Heatmor appear to be rivals.

Pokemon #24-Emboar

Emboar is a Pokemon that was intorduced in generation 5(Black,White).It is number 006 in the Unova Pokedex and number 500 in the National Pokedex. It is said that it has mastered fast and powerful fighting moves and that it grows a beard of fire.
Emboar is probably the worst of the three Fire-Fighting starters.I don't say it's completely useless, but comparing to Blaziken and Infernape,it's really nothing. Its stats are really mixed up bad.It comes with 110/65/65 on the defensive side and 123/100/65 on the offnesive side.As you can see its attack stat is excellent but pairing with that speed stat, that's just stupid. Also,I find weird how it has that high HP stat but its defenses are so paper thin.Anyway,I am not here to judge Game Freak's work.Let's continue. It's movepool is OK I guess, supporting nicely its nice attack stat.It gets two abilities.Blaze, which raises the power of the fire-type moves by 50% when the user's HP is below 1/3rd and Reckless, which increases the power of the recoil moves by 30% but also increases the recoil. Now,let's see some possible sets for Emboar.

Reckeless
-Wild Charge
-Flare Blitz
-Head Smash
-Earthquake
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Reckless
EVs,Nature:
252 Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)

This set tries to utilize the Reckless ability and Emboar's decent Attack stat.Wild Charge hits every water type really hard thanks to Reckless plus the Life Orb.Flare Blitz is your STAB and it is scary powerful with Reckless and Life Orb.Head Smash is your move for the Flying-types.Earthqauke,as I always say,is a great move to have and pairs really nice with Head Smash, hitting anything that Head Smash doesn't.

Mix Work Up
-Work Up
-Flare Blitz/Fire Blast
-Scald/Focus Blast/Grass Knot
-Earthquake/Hammer Arm
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Blaze
EVs,Nature:
252 HP,152 Attack,104 Special Attack
Brave(+Att,-Spe)

I forgot to mention that Emboar has decent Special Attack. So with decent and Attack and Special Attack you make a decent wall-breaking set(or Mixed wall breaker).Work Up raises your Special and Physical Attack by 1 stage, use it on a predicted switch and you are good.Flare Blitz is your STAB and is very strong after a Work Up,if you don't want though the recoil but you want to risk with the accuracy you can go with Fire Blast.Scald is an awesome move, being a Water-type and having that 30% chance of getting a burn.Focus Blast is your secondary STAB,but it's very unstable so be careful.Grass Knot can hit really hard some bulky waters, but that's what it only can do.Earthquake is always great to have.Hammer Arm is your other choice if you didn't picked Focus Blast, but the Speed drop is not really a help.

Counters
Thundurus and Landorus are great,as they outspeed and can 2HKO with ThunderBolt and OHKO with Earthquake respectively.Bulky waters, like Vaporeon and Drizzle Politoed, completely shut down Emboar, remember though that rarely Emboar can pack Grass Knot.Jellicent is great, resisting the Fire STAB and being immune to the Fighting STAB and able to 2HKO with Scald or Surf,or even force Emboar out.Cresselia is awesome against Emboar, resisting the Fighting STAB,being able to take hits all day and recover off the damage with Moonlight and 2HKO with Psychic.

Cool Info:Emboar is the heaviest fully evolved Fire-type starter Pokemon.

Pokemon #23-Haxorus

Haxorus is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 118 in the Unova Pokedex and number 612 in the National Pokedex. It is said that their sturdy tusks will stay sharp even if used to cut steel beams. These Pokemon are covered in hard armor.
Back when the Generation 5 started, everyone thought that Haxorus will be Uber in no time. Not only because of its pure Dragon-type,with only two weaknesses(to Ice and Dragon) but mainly for its godlike Attack stat. After many tests though,it was obvious that Haxorus was lacking two basic things.Strong physical Fire-type moves and Speed. So it end up being another ok Dragon-ype Pokemon, overpowered in UU but far too weak for OU.Its stats:76/90/70 Base on the defensive side (HP,Def,Sp.Def) and 147/60/97 Base on the offensive side. Its movepool isn't bad at all with access to both Swords Dance and Dragon Dance, but as I mentioned earlier the lacking of a physical Fire-type move, make Haxorus useless over the other Dragons. It can get though three abilities.Rivarly, which raises the Attack stat if the opponent's Pokemon is the same gender as Haxorus' but decreases the Attack stat if the opponent's Pokemon is the opposite gender.Mold Breaker, which makes your moves uneffected from the opponent's abillities(e.g.Earthquake hitting a Pokemon with the Levitate ability). Its third ability is Unerve which can get only through the Dream World and will make the opponent's Pokemon unable to eat its held berry as long as Haxorus is in the battle.Personally,I find Mold Breaker the best of all three Haxorus' abillities so all my sets will use it.Let's take a look now at some possible sets.

Dragon Dance
-Dragon Dance
-Earthquake
-Dragon Claw/Outrage
-Shadow Claw/Aerial Ace/Taunt
Item:Lum Berry
Ability:Mold Breaker
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Attack,4 HP
Jolly(+Spe,-Sp.Att)

Pretty straightforward set.Set up a few Dragon Dances, and get heavy damage on your opponent's team.Earthquake is an always great move to have and is your only hope against some common Steel-types like Metagross and Ferrothorn.Dragon Claw is STAB and really strong after a Dragon Dance.Outrage is more powerful but I don't recommend it,as your opponent can switch a Steel-type while you are locked in on Outrage and counter you.The last move is your choice. If you want to hit Ghosts or Psychics go with Shadow Claw.Aerial Ace can hit some common Grass-types but it's very weak.Taunt is another option that can be very helpful against Pokemon like Skarmory or Ferrothorn that like to switch in to Haxorus.

Choice Scarf
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Shadow Claw
-Dragon Claw/Brick Break
Item:Choice Scarf
Ability:Mold Breaker
EVs,Nature:
252 Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)/Jolly(+Spe,-Sp.Att)

This is set works better than the previous set. With the Choice Scarf and Adamant nature,Haxorus hits 439 Speed and 432 Attack which is completely ridiculous.Outrage is STAB and your strongest move, but use it wisely.Earthquake works exactly like the previous set.Shadow Claw is there for coverage.Dragon Claw can sometimes be a better choice over Outrage.Brick Break occassionaly can be helpful.

Counters
Bulky waters like,Vaporeon and Swampert are great against Haxorus.Gliscor completely walls Haxorus and easily can 2HKO with Earthquake or force it out.Ferrothorn is without a doubt the best counter, taking with ease Haxorus' STABs and being able to live everything even after plus 2 from Dragon Dance/Swords Dance.Skarmory is also good, resisting Haxorus' STAB and being immune to Earthquake.

Cool Info:Haxorus is the only fully-evolved pure Dragon-type Pokemon in a three-stage evolutionary line.

Team Building Guide

So today,I decided to do something different.Instead of your daily review of a Pokemon,I will write about team building.Every person who builds a team think different.I have my own ideas and strategies that I'll try to explain the best I can. From the article that follows you will be able to tell that my whole team is build around the two walls that I decide to use.If there's something you don't agree with or need any help with general team-building,tips and ideas send me an e-mail or leave a comment.

Lead
In our days strong and fast anti-lead Pokemon like Ambipom,Mienshao,Zoroark,Inferape,etc.. are very common. So most of the times,I go with bulky Pokemon with access to Stealth Rock, like Swampert,Skarmory,Ferrothorn,Bronzong. That enables me to take hits with ease, set up my entry hazards and then either switch to bring a right counter to the opponent's Pokemon or stay in with my lead and do what it can do(e.g.Set up Reflect and Light Screen with Bronzong, shuffle the opponent's team with Roar Swampert,etc.).Many people don't like the idea of a bulky-wall-lead,because they are used to think that leads always need to go down early in the match. This isn't neccessary. If you see that your lead can't handle a certain Pokemon just switch it out.Keep in mind though, that this kind of lead Pokemon are walled very easily from fast taunting Pokemon.

Position 2-3
After I find my lead,I try to find my defenses.I look for a physical and a special wall.As I mentioned earlier,my team is built around these two walls. So,I make sure I find exactly what I need and make it just how I want it.Firstly the physical wall.Pokemon like Steelix,Skarmory,Slowbro, etc are great for this spot just because of their decent physical defense. Also,I am trying to use the one with more resistances/immunities,so it can be more surive-able.After this,I find with exactly the same way my special wall.Pokemon like Blissey,Tentacruel,Jellicent work great on that spot. After I finish the whole team,I test it,so I can see if the walls work.If they don't,I replace them, trying to find the combination of the two that works better for me.

Position 4-5-6
After I finish with my defense,I work on my offense. My way of thinking is simple. One strong physical attacker with Choice Band/Scarf or Life Orb(like a physical Victini). One special attacker again with either a Choice item or Life Orb(like a special hydreigon). And a set up Pokemon, either physical or special(like Terrakion with Swords dance). After I find the right offensive Pokemon the team is ready.

Team Building is not difficult. You just need a good method, everyone got one and a lot of practice with this made team.Of course,if you look around the internet you'll find many ready-to-use teams, but using one of them just ruins the fun.As you probably noticed I didn't mention anyting about weather teams. That's because firstly,I find weather teams very unoriginal and easy to destroy and secondly, because it takes no skill at all to use one.Anyway, this was very short and simple but I hope that you liked and I inspired you a bit.

Have a nice day.

Pokemon #22-Mienshao

Mienshao is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 126 in the Unova Pokedex and number 620 in the National Pokedex. It is said that they use the long fur on their arms as a whip to strike their opponents.
Mienshao is one of the most common Pokemon of the current metagame, and for many good reasons. It is a pure Fighting type with great stats, great movepool and three decent abilities. It comes with 65/60/60 on the defensive side (HP/Def/Sp.Def) and 125/95/105 on the offensive side (Att/Sp.Att/Spe).The abilities that it gets through normal gameplay is Inner Focus, which will make the Pokemon to not flinch and Regenerator, which heals 33.3% health of the user everytime it swithces out of the battle. Its Dream World ability is Reckless which boosts the power of the moves with recoil but also increases the recoil damage. So now let's take a look at some possible sets.

Standard Lead
-Fake Out
-Hi Jump Kick
-U-Turn
-Stone Edge
Item:Focus Sash/Life Orb
Ability:Regenerator
EVs,Nature:
252 Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Jolly(+Spe,-Sp.Att)

The most common set of Mienshao.Works very well nearly everytime.Max Speed is neccessary so you can be as fast as you can.Fake Out is always to great to a lead Pokemon, being able to break the other's lead possible Focus Sash.Hi Jump Kick is your main STAB and with the boost that it got in this Generation it's a really good option.U-Turn is there for scouting as usual and for hitting some common Psychic-types like Reuniclus.Stone Edge is there for more type coverage and for hitting Fire and Flying Pokemon. If you want more power use Life Orb which matches nicely with the Regenerator ability, giving you back all the HP you lost from Life Orb whenever you switch. If you want your standard lead though,go with Focus Sash.

Choice
-Stone Edge
-Hi Jump Kick
-U-Turn
-Grass Knot/Hidden Power Electric
Item:Choice Scarf
Ability:Regenerator
EVs,Nature:
200 Attack,200 Special Attack,108 Speed
Naive(+Spe,-Sp.Def)

This is a very intresting set.Mixed Scarfer.Stone Edge is there for coverage and for hitting Rock-weak Pokemon.Hi Jump Kick is your STAB.U-Turn is there for scouting.Grass Knot can be good against the Bulky Water(Swampert,Vaporeon, etc).Hidden Power Electric is very gimmick, but can work in many situations.

Counters
Mienshao is very frail,so priority is great against it.Ghost-types like Cofagrigus,Gengar,Jellicent,Eviolite Dusklops are great resisting Stone Edge and being immune to STAB Hi Jump Kick.Scizor is the ultimate counter,in my opinion, being able to take hits and easily take down with the combination of Bullet Punch and Pursuit.

Cool Info:Mienshao and its pre-evolution Mienfoo are the only Pokemon of Generation 5 to learn Aura Sphere.

P.S.I was very lazy writing this.I'll try to add a Baton Pass set later, though I really doubt it being busy with school and all that.Anyway, have a nice day.

Pokemon #21-Braviary

Braviary is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 134 in the Unova Pokedex and number 628 in the National Pokedex. It is said that the more scars they have, the more respect these brave soldiers of the sky get from their peers.
Braviary is overall a good Pokemon.Good stats, decent abilities,a good movepool and an ok typing,Normal and Flying. It comes with 100/75/75 (HP/Def/Sp.Def) on the defensive side and 123/57/80 (Att/Sp.Att/Spe) on the offensive side. Its typing is not really great, being weak to Stealth Rock and the common Rock,Ice and Electiric moves. It comes with three abilities, two from normal gameplay and one from the Dream World.Keen Eye,which makes the opponents not able to lower Braviary's accuracy and Sheer Force, which raises the power of the moves with a secondary effect by negates that secondary effect. Its Dream World ability is Defiant, which raises Braviary's Attack by two stages every time you get a stat lowered.I must say that its movepool is the best of all Normal and Flying types that ever existed. It can get Rock Slide,Bulk Up,Superpower,U-Turn moves that most Pokemon with that typing cannot get.Anyway, let's take a look at some possible sets.

Choice
-U-Turn
-Superpower
-Brave Bird
-Rock Slide
Item:Choice Scarf/Choice Band
Ability:Sheer Force
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Attack,4 HP
Jolly(+Spe,Sp.Att)/Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)

The set that I've seen the most.Mostly the Choice Scarf one.If you go with Choice Scarf run max Attack Adamant or if you go with Choice Band run max Speed Jolly.U-Turn is a great move for scouting and hitting some common Psychic type.Superpower is very strong, but it has the problem that it lowers the Attack and Defense of the user.Brave Bird is your STAB and can hit really strong with the Choice Band, but don't forget the recoil.Rock Slide is the only move that gets a boost from Sheer Force, losing the flinching though. It can hit other Flying-types and also some Fire-types that like to come in to counter Braviary(Rotom-H).

Bulk Up
-Bulk Up
-Brave Bird
-Substitute
-Superpower
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Sheer Force
EVs,Nature:
200 HP,56 Attack,252 Special Defense
Careful(+Sp.Def,-Sp.Att)

I was using this set for months. And it worked decent I can say.Set up a Substitute on a predicted switch, and get as many Bulk Ups as you can.Brave Bird is your STAB and after Attack boosts is really strong.Superpower, after the Bulk Ups,is scary strong and also you won't have troubles with the Defense and Attack drop.

Counters
Stealth Rock realy wear Braviary down,so make sure you set them up.Thundurus easily take hits from it,and OHKO the Choice'd set with Thunderbolt.Metagross is decent, able to take hits and able to 2HKO with Meteor Mash.Cofagrigus completely walls Braviary, can Will-O-Wisp and destroy its Attack and also it can force it out.Reuniclus is great, being extremely bulky and able to live anything, and easily able to 2HKO with Life Orb Psychic.

Cool Info:Braviary can only be male.

Have a nice day.

Pokemon #20-Scolipede

Scolipede is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 51 in the Unova Pokedex and number 545 in the National Pokedex. It is highly aggressive and it uses the claws near its neck to dig into its opponents and poison them.
Scolipede is a Pokemon that I personally love. Both for its battling skills and for its amazing appearance. It is a Bug and Poison type, with somewhat good stats,a big movepool and three abilities to choose from.It comes with 60/89/69 on the defensive side(HP/Def/Sp.Def) and 90/55/112 on the offensive side (Att/Sp.Att/Speed).A very nice thing about Scolipede is that it has access to both Spikes and Toxic Spikes and in combination with its great Speed it can work perfect as a lead. Its two ingame abilities are Poison Point, which has 30% chances of poisoning the opponent whenever they attack with a contacting, physical move and Swarm which boosts the power of Bug-type moves by 50% when Scolipede's HP are below 1/3rd.theability that it gets through the Dream World is Quick Feet, which increases the user's Speed by 50% whenever it's inflicted with a status condition(Burn,Freeze,Sleep,Poison BUT not Paralyze). So,let's see some possible sets.

Lead
-Spikes
-Toxic Spikes
-Megahorn
-Earthquake
Item:Focus Sash
Ability:Swarm
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Attack,4 HP
Jolly(+Spe,-Sp.Att)

I was using this set for a long time. And most of the times worked perfectly. When you run max Speed with Jolly nature, you can outspeed nearly all nowdays leads.Spikes is an amazing move, and in combination with Focus Sash you have for sure two layers set up,but most of the times your opponent won't attack you in the first turn so you will be able to set up three layers which is the maximum.Toxic Spikes can be used if you finished using Spikes, but also if you see that your opponent has Pokemon that doesn't like Poison,so mainly sweepers. So instead of Spikes in the first turn, use Toxic Spikes.Megahorn is a very strong move,it is STAB and when you are down to your Focus Sash it will hit twice more powerful than before, getting the Swarm boost.Earthquake is there to hit some Steel-types that like to switch in and wall Scolipede.

Swords Dance
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Megahorn
-Pursuit/Rock Slide
Item:Life Orb/Black Sludge
Ability:Quick Feet/Swarm
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Attack,4 HP
Jolly(+Spe,-Sp.Att)

Scolipede can come in on a move that resists, like Bug or Poison, force the switch and easily set up a Swords Dance. With max Speed only few Pokemon will outspeed you so with Swords Dace that's a deadly combo.Earthquake hits the Steel-types that can wall Scolipede, while Megahorn is your STAB and it is insanely powerful after a Swords Dance.Pursuit can be good hitting Ghosts and Psychics and hitting the switching Pokemon, while Rock Slide hits Flying-types and can match nicely with Earthquake, hitting everything that EQ doesn't hit.

Counters
Bulky Pokemon that can take STAB Megahorn, like Cofagrigus,Golurk and Escavalier are great agaianst Scolipede.Jellicent will shut Scolipede down completely, hitting it with STAB Surf or Scald on its weak Special Defensive side.Faster Pokemon like Azelf,Starmie and Alakazam are great, being able to OHKO with STAB Psychic or force it out.Scolipede hates Stealth Rock,so if you set them up it will slowly wear it down.

Cool Info:Scolipede is the heaviest and tallest Bug-type Pokemon.

Have a nice day.

Pokemon #19-Cofagrigus

Cofagrigus is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 69 in the Unova Pokedex and number 563 in the National Pokedex. It has been said that they swallow those who get too close and turn them into mummies. Also they like to eat gold nuggets.
Cofagrigus is a cool Pokemon. Many say that it is the new Dusknoir, looking at its stats. And definetely that's true.Cofagrigus has monster defenses 58/145/105 (HP/Def/Sp.Def),lacking HP though. Its offensive stats aren't good, but it has a somewhat decent Special Attack,50/95/30(Att/Sp.Att/Speed).I forgot to mention that Cofagrigus is a pure Ghost-type.Its only ability is Mummy, which everytime your opponent touch you,you give him this ability(I cannot explain it better). This will be the first time that I cover a so defensive Pokemon,so let's see how I do.

Tank
-Will-O-Wisp
-Hex
-Pain Split
-Haze
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Mummy
EVs,Nature:
252 HP,126 Defense,130 Special Defense
Calm(+Sp.Def,-Att)

The most common Cofagrigus set.Use Will-O-Wisp to halve your opponent's Attack and ensure that you won't go down from a physical move.Hex is a pretty neat move, hitting two times more powerful if your opponent has a status condition, which works great with Will-O-Wisp and at the same time getting STAB.Pain Split is the only recovery move that Cofagrigus gets, taking HP from your opponent and giving it to you..Haze can eliminate the stat changes, and can really surprise your opponent as nearly none is running Haze on Cofagrigus.

Calm Mind
-Calm Mind
-Shadow Ball
-Hidden Power Fighting
-Energy Ball/Will-O-Wisp
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Mummy
EVs,Nature:
252 Defense,252 HP,4 Special Attack
Bold(+Def,-Att)

This set is also quite common and is also very effective.Bring Cofagrigus in,set up Calm Minds and get serious damage on your opponent's Pokemon.Shadow Ball is your only STAB,and it makes a great combination with Hidden Power Fighting, hitting the things that Shadow Ball doesn't hit.Energy Ball can work well, hitting the bulky waters that like to come in and wall Cofagrigus.Will-O-Wisp is another choice that can work with Calm Mind, making your opponent's Attack fall, force them to hit you on the special side where you have a few Calm Minds and you won't understand a thing.Make sure you run max HP and you share the EVs between your Defense and your Special Defense,so you have a good defensive balance.

Counters
Blissey/Chansey really stops Cofagrigus, being able to take hits all day and easily force it out.Even after 4 Calm Minds Cofagrigus won't 2HKO with Hidden Power Fighting.Snorlax is also great, able to take hits with ease and set up on it with Curse.Hydreigon can come in and 2HKO Cofagrigus with Dark Pulse/Crunch and take a couple of Hidden Powers Fighting.Ferrothorn easily take hits even after Calm Minds, and can set up entry hazards as well as force Cofagrigus out.Scrafty is also good, being able to come in take with ease the Hidden Power Fighting, set up(Bulk Up,Dragon Dance) and force Cofagrigus out.

Cool Info:Cofagrigus is the only yellow Ghost-type Pokemon.

Have a nice day.

Pokemon #18-Virizion

Virizion is a Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5 (Black,White). It is number 146 in the Unova Pokedex and number 640 in the National Pokedex. It is said that from its head sprouts horns as sharp as blades and by using whirlwind-like movements,it confounds and swiftly cuts opponents.
I am using Virizion since the begining of Generation 5 and it really works.Very good stats, decent movepool and an ok type.It comes with 91/72/129 on the defensive side and 90/90/108 on the offensive side. Its typing is not really the best defensively but at least it's good offensively. The resistance to Spikes and Stealth Rock is also pretty cool.Virizion gets only one ability,Justified, which raises its attack stat by one stage every time it gets hit from a Dark-type move. So,let's see some sets.

Swords Dance
-Swords Dance
-Leaf Blade
-Sacred Sword
-Stone Edge
Item:Leftovers/Life Orb
Ability:Justified
EVs,Nature:
252 Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Jolly(+Speed,-Sp.Att)

This is the set that I've been using and really worked.Pretty much this is a late game sweeping set.Bring it as late as you can set up a Swords Dance and finish off your opponent.Make sure you run max Speed though. Both Leftovers and Life Orb work great.Life Orb though can be slightly helpful giving you that bit of extra damage which can really play big role in the game.Leaf Blade is STAB and has a nice high ratio of critical hit which is always nice.Sacred Sword is your second STAB,and I really prefer it from Close Combat, just because it gives Virizion higher survivability, and also hits through the stat boosts, which is nice.Stone Edge is there for more type coverage.

Calm Mind
-Calm Mind
-Giga Drain
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power Ice/Fire
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Justified
EVs,Nature:
252 Defense,252 HP,4 Special Attack
Bold(+Def,-Att)

A set that I was using for quite a while, not as effective as the other one,but can also work.Run max Defense and HP,and with that natural Special defensive bulk that Virizion packs, you will be just fine defensively.Set up a few Calm Minds and then hit hard, without worrying defensively being able to take hits yourself with some overall ease.Giga Drain gained a nice boost in this Gen,and now is a pretty decent Grass move to have, giving you health back and also hitting with STAB.Focus Blast, sadly is the only fighting special attacking move that Virizion gets.I say sadly because of that low accuracy.Though it's a great move and also it's STAB.Hidden Power Ice is there to hit Dragons and other Grass types, but HP Fire is also greatly helpful to hit certain Pokemon for super effective damage.

Counters
Latios,Latias,Reuniclus,Thundurus, all can outspeed(Reuniclus in Trick Room only) and hit Virizion hard.Multiscale Dragonite is awesome able to take both Virizion's STABs and KO with Hurricane.Forretress is great against the Swords Dance set able to take hits all day,set up entry hazards and force Virizion out.Gliscor is amazing against the Swords Dance, being able to take hits for days and easily OHKO with Acrobatics, which is very common these days.Virizion generally hates Status problems,so if you paralyze it or Toxic poison,it won't be any threat at all.

Cool Info:Virizion has the highest Special Defense of all Grass and Fighting type Pokemon.

Have a nice day.

Pokemon #17-Landorus

Landorus is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 151 in the Unova Pokedex and number 645 in the National Pokedex. It is said that the energy that comes pouring from its tail increases the nutrition in the soil, making crops grow to great size.
Landorus is a great Pokemon. It is Ground and Flying,it has amazing stats,a decent movepool and two good abilities to work with.It comes with 89/90/80 on the defensive side(HP/Def/Sp.Def) and 125/115/101 on the offensive side(Att/Sp.Att/Speed).The ability that it gets through normal gameplay is Sand Force, which raises the power of Steel,Ground and Rock moves of the user in the Sandstrom by 33%.Landorus' Dream World ability is Sheer Force, which raises the power of the moves with a secondary effect but make the moves lose this effect, and also the user won't get damage from Life Orb.Its typing is great, giving it complete immunity to Spikes and Toxic Spikes and also to Earthquake which even though is not super effective can deal heavy damage.Let's see some possible sets that Landorus can use.

Choice
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-U-Turn
-Outrage/Brick Break
Item:Choice Scarf/Choice Band
Ability:Sand Force
EVs,Nature:
252 Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)/Jolly(+Spe,-Sp.Att)

The most used and effective set of Landorus. If you decide to go with the Choice Scarf, run Adamant nature with max Attack or if you decide to go with the Choice Band, run Jolly nature with max Speed. Also,it would be great for this set,to have in your team either a Tyranitar or a Hippowdon for the Sandstrom. With that your Stone Edge and Earthquake will hit crazy hard.Earthquake is your STAB and is always great.Stone Edge will hit anything that Earthqauke doesn't,but you'll have to switch to do so.U-Turn is a great move on a Choice set, giving you the opportunity to hit while you scout your opponent's moves.Outrage is there to hit Garchomp and Hydreigon for super effective damage.Brick Break is another option, not as powerful as Outrage, but can occasionally work.

Life Orb
-Earthquake
-Swords Dance
-Stone Edge
-Outrage/Brick Break/Explosion
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Sheer Force
EVs,Nature:
252 Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Jolly(+Spe,-Sp.Att)

This is a really scary set.Run max Speed,to be sure that you can outspeed as many Pokemon as you can. After a Swords Dance,Landorus can hit nearly 750 Attack and with the help of Life Orb,this sure won't be pleasant for your opponent.Earthquake is your STAB and can always hit hard even without a Swords Dance boost.Stone Edge, like the previous set, hits everything that Earthquake doesn't,gains a small boost from Sheer Force, losing though that critical hit ratio. The last move is your choice.Outrage hits the Dragons.Brick Break is the only move that Landorus gets that can hit Ferrothorn for super effective damage. And Explosion is a move that I don't really recommend but you can go with it just for fun(Explosion is not as powerful as it used to be in Generation 4,that's why I don't have it as primary choice). The cool thing with this set is that you can make your opponents think that you are Choice'd(Sheer Force doesn't let you get Life Orb damage)and then when they think that you will switch, stay in and hit with another move.

Counters
Ferrothorn takes all of Landorus moves with ease and can easily set up on it or force it out.Skarmory is another great counter being immune to Earthquake and easily being able to take even boosted hits.Gliscor can easily take hits, immune the Earthquake and force Landorus out.Bulky Waters,as Vaporeon,Swampert and Suicune are great being able to easily take hits and either force it out or KO with a water or an ice type move.

Cool Info:Landorus has the highest Special Attack of all Ground-type Pokemon.

Pokemon #16-Serperior

Serperior is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Geneation 5(Black,White).It is number 003 in the Unova Pokedex and number 497 in the National Pokedex. It is said that it can stop its opponent's movements with just a glare and that it takes in solar energy and boosts internally.
Serperior is described by many as the best starter of Generation 5,and that's definetely true.Serperior is a pure Grass-type,with decent stats,a kinda poor movepool and two abilities.Serperior comes with 75/95/95 on the defensive side and 75/75/113 on the offensive side.We can easily tell that the stats aren't shared properly.I mean a fast defensive Pokemon? But,Serperior is still awesome. The two abilities that it gets are Overgrow, which boosts the power of the Grass-type moves by 50% when the user's HP are below 1/3rd and Contrary from the Dream World, which raises the stats when lowering moves are used and lowers the stats when boosting moves are used. So,if you couldn't tell the thing that makes Serperior better than the other starters is this Dream World ability.Anyway, let's see some possible sets.

Contrerior
-Substitute
-Hidden Power Fire
-Leaf Storm
-Leech Seed
Item:Life Orb/Leftovers
Ability:Contrary
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Special Attack,4 HP
Timid(+Speed,-Attack)

It's sad that Serperior doesn't get any other Special Attacking moves. This set is very common and is very effective.Predict a switch, set up a Substitute and hit hard with your boosted moves.Hidden Power Fire is there to hit some Grass Types which like to come in and wall Serperior.Leaf Storm is the main attraction on this set, hitting hard with STAB and boosting your Special Attack by two stages thanks to Contrary.Leech Seed is there to let you recover off the damage of the Substitute or Life Orb.

Coil
-Coil
-Leaf Blade
-Leech Seed
-Substitute
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Overgrow
EVs,Nature:
252 Special Defense,252 HP,4 Speed
Careful(+Sp.Def,-Sp.Att)

This is a very easy to wall set,but Serperior lacks good moves,so you can at least try this.Coil boosts your Attack,Defense and Accuracy, which is very cool when your behind a Substitute.Leaf Blade is your only move and after a few Coils it can hit hard even Pokemon which resist it.Leech Seed is always nice to have, getting health back and forcing your opponent to switch Pokemon.

Counters
Victini is amazing, completely walling Serperior and being able to one or two HKO with a Fire-type move.Chandelure resists its STAB and doesn't take damage from Hidden Power Fire and can easily OHKO with Fire Blast. So,generaly Fire-types are amazing against Serperior.Hydreigon can easily take hits and OHKO with STAB Draco Meteor or Fire Blast/Flamethrower.

Cool Info:Serperior, along with Samurott, are the only fully evolved starters that cannot learn Earthquake.

Have a nice day.
P.S.I rushed this review,so it might have some problems.Leave a comment if you find any.

Pokemon #15-Terrakion

Terrakion is a Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 145 in the Unova Pokedex and number 639 in the National Pokedex. It is said that this Pokemon came to the defense of Pokemon that had lost their homes in a war among humans.
Terrakion is another good Pokemon of this new Generation. It has the unique typing of Rock and Fighting, decent stats and a pretty big movepool to choose from. Its ability is called Justified, which raises the Attack stat by one stage every time you get hit from a Dark-type move.It comes with 91/90/90 on the defensive side (HP/Def/Sp.Def) and 129/72/108 on the offensive side(Att/Sp.Att/Speed).Its typing is great offensively, giving it two very good STABs(Rock and Fighting).Defensively,Terrakion isn't that good being weak to six deifferent types(Water,Steel,Grass,Psychic,Fighting,Ground),but trust me,Terrakion shouldn't be defensive.Let's take a look at some possible sets.

Choice
-Stone Edge
-Close Combat/Sacred Sword
-Earthquake
-X-Scissor
Iteam:Choice Scarf/Choice Band
Ability:Justified
EVs,Nature:
252 Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)/Jolly(+Speed,-Sp.Att)

The most common Terrakion set.If you decide to go with Choice Scarf, run max Attack Adamant and if you decide to go with Choice Band, run max Speed and Jolly nature.Stone Edge is STAB and can hit very hard.Close Combat is your other STAB and is also very strong even without the Choice Band.If you don't want, though the Defense drops from Close Combat, you can go with Sacred Sword which is weaker but can be helpful ignoring the opponent's stat boosts and hitting quite hard.Earthquake is great on every Pokemon with good Attack and Terrakion is one of them.X-Scissor is there to hit some possible Grass types, which like to come in and wall Terrakion.

Swords Dance
-Swords Dance
-Close Combat
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Justified
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Attack,4 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)/Jolly(+Speed,-Sp.Att)

Another common set. After a Swords Dance Adamant max Attack Terrakion hits nearly 800 Attack,so it's not something to laugh at.Close Combat is great, being STAB and stuff. The Stone Edge and Earthquake combo is always great.Everything that immunes an Earthquake won't immune a Stone Edge and vice versa.
A pretty easy and effective.

Counters
Priority Moves, like Mach Punch,Bullet Punch and Vacum Wave really destroy Terrakion.Skarmory can wall Terrakion for days and easily set up on its face.Reuniclus can also wall it,but it won't really appriciate a rare X-Scissor in the face.Gliscor is without a doubt the best counter, resisting both STABs and being able to easy KO with Earthquake or force it out.Landorus isn't really defensive, but the Choice Scarf set,can easily come in on a Swords Dance and either OHKO with Earthquake or force it out.

Cool Info:No other Pokemon has the same type combination as Terrakion.

Have a nice day.

Pokemon #14-Thundurus

Thundurus is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 148 in the Unova Pokedex and number 642 in the National Pokedex. It is said that the spikes on its tail discharge immense bolts of lightning and that it flies around the Unova region firing off lightning bolts.
Once again,I'm reviewing a great Pokemon.Thundurus is an Electic and Flying type Pokemon, with a decent spread of stats,a very big movepool and a very useful ability.Firstly, its stats. It comes with 79/70/80 on the defensive side(HP/Def/Sp.Def) and 115/125/111 on the offensive side(Att/Sp.Att/Speed).Its movepool is truly amazing, being able to support those excellent stats. It can get two abilities, though one can be useful.Prankster is its normal ability that it gets through normal gameplay, which makes the status category moves go always first, and Defiant is its Dream World ability, which raises Thundurus Attack by two stages every time any one of its stats is lowered. So,as you can probably tell the useful ability is Prankster.Anyway, now that we have an overview and we can say that Thundurus amazing, let's take a look at some possible sets.

Lead
-Volt Switch
-Thunder Wave
-Grass Knot
-Taunt
Item:Focus Sash
Ability:Prankster
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Special Attack,4 HP
Timid(+Speed,-Attack)

This is a very cool set.And it also works.Prankster lets you always go first with Taunt and Thunder Wave. And these two moves are combining great.Use Taunt first,so your opponent doesn't set up entry hazards and after that use Thunder Wave. Then,Volt Switch to get a nice amount off on your opponent's HP and also get the switch advantage.Grass Knot works surprising well in this set,as it's unexpected from most of the players, and can easily OHKO the common Swampert lead.

Nasty Plot
-Nasty Plot
-ThunderBolt
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power Ice/Grass Knot
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Prankster
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Special Attack,4 HP
Timid(+Speed,-Attack)

I've seen this set several times and I must admit that I really like it.Run Max Speed so after a Nasty Plot, you can be able to outspeed as many Pokemon as you can.Oh and I forget. After a Nasty Plot you can hit nearly 800 Special Attack,so it's not something to play with.ThunderBolt is STAB and can hit crazy hard after a Nasty Plot.Focus Blast hits Ferrothorn and every other Steel-type that will try to stop Thundurus.Hidden Power Ice is one of your two options as a last move,as it hits Dragons and will most likely OHKO even without a Nasty Plot.Grass Knot is your other option, not as useful as HP-Ice but it can work.

Choice
-Volt Switch
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power Ice
-Grass Knot/Psychic
Item:Choice Specs/Choice Scarf
Ability:Prankster
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Special Attack,4 HP
Tmid(+Speed,-Attack)/Modest(+Sp.Attack,-Att)

An also vey common set.Mostly the Scarfed one.If you use Choice Scarf make sure you run Modest Max Special Attack and if you run Choice Specs make sure you run Max Speed with Timid nature.Volt Switch is great hitting with STAB and at the same time switching out.Focus Blast is there for Steels and mainly Ferrothorn.Hidden Power Ice for the Dragons, mostly Garchomp which likes to come in trying,to absorb an electric move.Grass Knot can hit Ground types which you can't hit othrwise.Psyhcic is quite uncommon but can occasionaly wotk against some Fighting types. In any case Grass Knot is better, but Psychic is original and sometimes can be extremely helpful.

Counters
Most of the Pokemon wouldn't really appriciate a hit from Thundurus. But many things could knock it out without a problem.Bronzong can take hits and either status and slowly wear down Thundurus or force it out.Virizion is amazing being able to survive any hit, thanks to its godlike Special Defense(even super effective HP Ice),and possibly KO with Stone Edge.Thundurus weakness to Stealth Rock can really lower its HP so after a couple of switches,Priority Pokemon can clean it up.Thundurus is generally fragile,so if you can take a hit and then hit it back, you will possibly KO it.

Cool Info:Thundurus is base on Raijin, the japanese god of wind and lightning.

Have a nice day.

Pokemon #13-Excadrill

Excadrill is a Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 36 in the Unova Pokedex and number 530 in the National Pokedex. It is said that it can help in tunnel constuction and that its drill has evolved into steel strong enough to bore through iron plates.
Excadrill is the Pokemon that was described by many people as the best Pokemon of Generation 5.I won't agree but I will say that Excadrill is very close to be the best 5th Generation Pokemon. It is a Ground and Steel type which grants it immunity to Toxic,Toxic Spikes and Thunder Wave which is something amazing for a sweeper like Excadrill. Its stats are also very good with 110/60/65 on the defensive side (HP/Def/Sp.Def) and 135/50/88 on the offensive side (Att/Sp.Att/Speed).Its movepool is not that great but it has some pretty nice moves like Swords Dance,Earthquake and Rock Slide that can really help it.Reading the review so far,you will be like "Why the heck Excadrill is one of the best Pokemon of Gen 5?!".The answer is simple.Sand Rush.Sand Rush is one of the three abilities that Excadrill can get,the others being Sand Force which boosts the power of Rock,Steel and Ground moves by 33% in Sandstorm and Mold Breaker which makes the user uneffected by the opponent's ability. Now,Sand Rush.It simply doubles Excadrill's speed in Sandstrorm and so that means, that if you run Max Speed you can hit 604 Speed without any other help.Pretty cool, huh?Let's take a look at some possible sets.

Standard
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-X-Scissor/Aerial Ace/Shadow Claw
Item:Life Orb/Leftovers
Ability:Sand Throw
EVs,Nature:
252 Attack,204 Speed,52 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)

The most common set.You need Max Attack,so go with Adamant nature. The Speed EVs is not really a big deal, just because you have Sand Rush.Swords Dance pairs nicely with this ability.Set up one,on a predicted switch and then it's pretty much a sweep if your opponent hasn't got a counter.Earthquake is STAB and very good in general and after a Swords Dance is ugly strong.Rock Slide hits Flying Pokemon and is good combo with Earthquake. The last move is tricky.X-Scissor,Aerial Ace or Shadow Claw. All of them give you a poor type coverage, but that's your only choices. So go with the one that you think you can sweep better with.Obviously, you need Sandstorm support in order to activate your ability and generally make this set work,so make sure you have either a Tyranitar or a Hippowdon in your team.

Choice Band
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-X-Scissor
-Brick Break
Item:Choice Band
Ability:Sand Rush
EVs,Nature:
252 Attack,240 Speed,16 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)

This theoretically is a great set.Getting the speed boost from the Sandstrom and having a monstrous Attack stat from the Choice Band, means that anyone who's not prepared will get swept.Earthquake is STAB and hits hard with the blessings of the Choice Band.Rock Slide can be useful hitting hard Ice and Flying types.
X-Scissor hits every Pokemon that resists Earthquake and Rock Slide combo and can hit hard the Grass types which can sometimes cause troubles to Excadrill.Brick Break is there just to complete the set and for some more type coverage.Again,as in the previous set you need Sandstorm support from Tyranitar or Hippowdon.

Counters
Ferrothorn is the best and most common Excadrill counter, resisting everything that it can throw and being able to easily set up and/or force Excadrill out.Skarmory is also good, being immune to the STAB Earthquake, able to take hits with ease and set up entry hazards.Bronzong, even though it's uncommon in our days, can wall Excadrill and force it out.Bulky Waters,as Vaporeon,Swampert and Suicune can take some hits and either hit back for the KO or force it out.

Cool Info:In early Black and White promotional videos,Excadrill had a different colouring.

Enjoy and have a nice day!

Pokemon #12-Darmanitan

Darmanitan is Pokemon that was introduced in Genration 5(Black,White).It is number 61 in the Unova Pokedex and number 555 in the National Pokedex. It is said that its internal fire burns at 2500°F,making enough power that it can destroy a dump truck with one punch.
Darmanitan is in the top 10 of the best Pokemon of Generation 5.Pure Fire-type,two great abilities, amazing stats and a very decent movepool.Darmanitan comes with 140 Base Attack,30 Base Special Attack and 95 Base Speed and 105 Base HP,55 Base Defense and Special Defense. Its pure fire-type provides a great offensive STAB as well as three weaknesses defensively. The ability that it gets through normal gameplay is Sheer Force,an excellent ability, which boosts the power of the moves with a secondary effect but losing this effect. The Dream World ability that it gets is Zen Mode,a very difficult to use ability, which changes your form, your type and your stats when your health is below half. The Zen Mode stats are 105/105/105 in HP/Def/Sp.Def respectively, and 30/140/55 in Att/Sp.Att/Speed respectively. So,let's see some possible sets.

Choice
-U-Turn
-Flare Blitz
-Stone Edge
-Superpower
Item:Choice Scarf/Choice Band
Ability:Sheer Force
EVs,Nature:
252 Att,252 Speed,4 HP
Adamant(+Att,-Sp.Att)/Jolly(+Speed,-Att)

The most common and standard Darmanitan set.If you use Choice Scarf go with Max Att,Adamant nature and if you go with Choice Band go with Max Speed,Jolly nature.U-Turn is great for scouting and getting damage.Flare Blitz is your STAB and is immensely powerful with Choice Band and Sheer Force.Stone Edge gets a nice boost from Sheer Force and can hit pretty hard nearly everything.Superpower complete the set nicely, being a very high-power Fighting move able to land some serious damage. Now,which item you use it's your choice. It's a choice between Speed and Power.

Zen Mode
-Flamethrower
-Psychic
-Substitute
-Toxic/Focus Blast/Grass Knot
Item:Wise Glasses/Life Orb
Ability:Zen Mode
EVs,Nature:
252 HP,252 Special Attack,4 Def
Modest(+Sp.Att,-Att)

This is the epitomy of a gimmick set.It worked two times for me,but you can probably use it better than me.What you have to do it's pretty simple.Set up Substitutes until you activate your ability, and then hit very very hard. Both Psychic and Flamethrower are STAB and they are a very good offensive combo. The last slot is again your choice.Toxic can be good with Substitute for stalling your opponent.Focus Blast is always a great move and Darmanitan in Zen Mode can make a very good use of it.Grass Knot is also a very good option being able to hit the Water Pokemon and espicially the common Bulky ones.

Counters
Jellicent,Swampert,Suicune,Vaporeon,Politoed have nothing to fear from the standard Darmanitan set and can easily force it out or kill it.Zapdos can take hits with ease and easily 2HKO with Thunderbolt, keeping in mind that Darmanitan can pack Stone Edge.Gliscor is awesome being able to take hits and KO with Earthquake.Sandslash completely walls Darmanitan and can easily set up Rocks or OHKO with Earthquake.Darmanitan, being a Fire-type,despises entry hazards,so if you set up Stealth Rocks and a layer or two of Spikes Darmanitan won't trouble you all that much.

Cool Info: Darmanitan's standard form has the highest base Attack stat of all Fire type Pokemon.

Have a nice day.

Pokemon #11-Galvantula

Galvantula is a Pokemon that was intoduced in Generation 5(Black,White).It is number 102 in the Unova Pokedex and number 596 in the National Pokedex. It is said that, when they are attacked, they create an electrical barrier by spitting out many electrically charged threads.
Galvantula is a perfect example of an UnderUsed Pokemon, which isn't a bad thing. An original Bug and Electric type, with solid stats, good movepool and three nice abilities. It comes with 77 Base Attack,97 Base Special Attack and 108 Base Speed and 70 Base HP,60 Base Defense and 60 Base Special Defense, stats that aren't bad but could be better. Its typing gives it great defensive coverage with only two weaknesses to Fire and Rock and four resistances to Steel,Grass,Fighting and Electric.Offensively, its typing offers two great STABs and combining its great movepool,Galvantula potentially can be a very threatening Pokemon. Its two abilities that it gets in-game are Unnerve, which doesn't let the opponent's Pokemon eat its held berry while Galvantula is in-battle and Compoundeyes, which raises Galvantula's accuracy by 30%.From the Dream World Galvantula gets the Swarm ability, which boosts the power of the Bug type moves by 50% when its HP are below 1/3rd.So now, let's take a look at some potential sets.

Standard-ula
-Volt Switch
-Bug Buzz
-Energy Ball
-Hidden Power Ice/Fire
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Compoundeyes/Swarm
EVs,Nature:
252 Special Attack,252 Speed,4 HP
Timid(+Speed,-Attack)

This is Galvantula's best set. With Max Speed you can hit 346,having enough Speed to outspeed a good amount of Pokemon. The moves in this set are all 100% accurate so Compoundeyes is not really helpful,so Swarm would be better letting you hit something really hard with a boosted Bug Buzz.Volt Switch is a great move for Galvantula being able to land a lot of damage with the Life Orb and the STAB and then switch out.Bug Buzz is STAB and is your main standard option if you want to stay in and hit hard.Energy Ball hits Bulky Waters which necessary.Hidden Power Ice can hit incredibly hard the Dragons, but Hidden Power Fire is good option too, being able to hit Ferrothorn and probably OHKO.

Choice Specs
-Volt Switch/Thunder
-Bug Buzz
-Energy Ball
-Hidden Power Ice/Fire
Item:Choice Specs
Ability:Compoundeyes
EVs,Nature:
252 Speed,252 Special Attack,4 HP
Timid(+Speed,-Attack)

Very original set,I know.If you didn't notice this is exactly the same set as the previous one, with only difference the item. So,everything that I wrote in the previous set works here as well.Though,Thunder is here if you want more power than Volt Switch.Don't worry about the accuracy,Comboundeyes really helps you with that.We have to note though, that all your moves will hit insanely hard with the help of Choice Specs.I used this set more times than the other one and it really worked,so I recommend you to give it a shoot.

Counters
Blissey is always great against Special Attacking Pokemon, being a crazy good Special Wall.Snorlax can come in,take any hit and easily set up some Curses.Ferrothorn is very good too, taking with ease all moves but keeping in mind that rarely,Galvantula can carry Hidden Power Fire.Drought Ninetales, which is very common in these days, can take a few hits and easily take down Galvantula or force it out.Dual Screen Cresselia, uncommon in our days, can take at least two Bug Buzzes, set up a Light Screen and Recover all the damage off with Moonlight.Choice Scarf Pokemon, like Terrakion and Garchomp, are great being able to come in on an electric move and OHKO with Stone Edge.

Cool Info:Galvantula and its pre-evolved form,Joltik are the only Pokémon capable of having the Unnerve ability that do not have it as their Hidden Ability.

Have a nice day.

No Post Today

I am sorry but today I won't be able to write the daily Pokemon review.
Tommorow I will have Galavantula for all you.
Once again I am sorry and I hope that all you, will have a nice day.
